Remember what we are here for brethren. We fight not a war to defeat an enemy. We fight not a war to protect ourselves. We are here, and we fight a war, to defend honor, trust, and light, in all forms and places.
Anselm Durante is the mysterious leader of the armies enlisted by the God of Xravos from the Realms, a Hero of Light from a world known as Penance in a far away universe known as the Behenius. Given the ability to travel worlds, he often visits many of them seeking to be an inspiration to any Heroes of Light in struggle.

A mysterious soldier from a far off world, he appears to Heroes of Light in need seeking to aid them in their restoration.
He serves the God of Xravos in an attempt to enlist all Heroes of Light he can find for a great cause, to prevent a mysterious universal catclysm known only as "The Abandonment". He is here in the Realm of Light to assist the Keyblade wielders in their fight against Master Xehanort, a man he ahbors and associates with the mysterious Abandonment.
Filled with knowledge of the worlds and their people through his gift of omniscience, he aids indirectly by revealing worlds to others, and directing their attention to true threats of darkness.
Anselm's past is known only to himself, and he often mentions his goals of preventing the Abandonment were the result of his own descent into bitter, harrowing struggles, and how he was able to rise above them and prove victorious. Since his reception into the universe of Xravos as a General and a leader of the God of Xravos' armies, he has traveled to various universes, healing the hurt in the hearts of any Hero of Light he has encountered, and giving them the inspiration to prevent the Abandonment in their universe, as he fights against it in his own.
It is believed he was once a leader of a military on his home world, but that may be speculation and can only be revealed upon more study on the events surrounding the enigmatic Behenian Wars.
Anselm serves to inspire others, thus he strives to maintain the highest qualities of virtue, honor and respect within himself. He is valiant in his duties, serving diligently the cause of aiding others, and assisting the ultimate goal of preventing the Abandonment in every world he can find. He can be seen as a savior of light in some situations, descending upon a world condemned to destruction to beckon the heroes to save it. He is not above aiding in the fight itself, though his personal belief is in helping one achieve victory, not achieve the victory to help.
As a being with the ability to alter his natural form through will and his environment, Anselm takes great precautions in taking a form that would suit his role and allow people to accept him in the world he is currently visiting. In the Realm of Light, he takes the form of a being known only in the oldest legends as "The Warrior of Light". During the times he aided in the Great War against Utgar in the planet known as Valhalla, he took the appearance of a phantom Valkyrie. To anyone he visits not of the Realms attached to the Behenius, his true appearance is unknown.
Anselm's abilities stem from his own genetic makeup, connected to the powers granted to him from the God of Xravos. These powers include his abilties to cross into other multiverses or universes, changing his form spontaneously to disguise himself, omniscience over the events of a world, universe or multiverse he is visiting, and the ability to prevent a world from falling into ignorance by others.
His combat abilities are largely unknown, but it has been said that he has significant elemental control over his surroundings, an ability directly inherited by the God of Xravos himself. He also hosts amplified agility, the ability of flight, and exceptional sword and marksmanship. Whether or not these abilities come from his own training in his mortal past or from his gifts recieved from the God of Xravos, it is unknown.
