Rinzler is CLU 2's primary enforcer. He is an exceptionally skilled warrior and is the elite combatant in all games in The Grid. In addition, he is the only known program to use two identity discs in battle. Originally known as Tron.

Physical Appearance[]

Rinzler is a fairly slim man covered head to toe in a tight black battlesuit with orange lights on his waist and legs, as well as the orange Tron logo on his chest. His pointed helmet is retractible, but is never removed ingame.

History[]

After the events of the original Tron, his code was placed into a new system by Kevin Flynn, to protect the Grid from malicious programs. After the coup by CLU, he was repurposed into Rinzler, and used as a nearly unstoppable enforcer for CLU.

During Sora's revisit to The Grid, he is sent after Sora by CLU, who is interested in using the Keyblade to open the lock keeping him trapped inside The Grid. At the end of the world, CLU offers to change Rinzler back into Tron in exchange for the Keyblade, but Sora refuses, prompting Rinzler to fight him

After defeating Rinzler, Sora uses Tron's Limit Ability from the original Grid in an attempt to bring Tron back. It works for a moment, but it is implied that CLU managed to recapture him and turn him evil once more

Rinzler's current fate is unknown. He was last seen sinking into the Sea of Simulation, his original programming restored and lights turning from orange to blue once more, a universal sign that a program is no longer evil or malicious
