1 article featuring an non-Disney nor Square Enix-based character (AkaRenger).
The rules for user nomination are as follows:
After a primary category of article has an article chosen to be the Featured Article, any other articles within this category cannot be nominated again for two months.
Articles can never be renominated after being chosen.
Only registered users can vote, and all posts must be signed. All unsigned posts will be removed.
In the event of a tie, the former nominated article shall be featured first, and the latter nominated article shall be featured the following month. All voting restrictions for that month will roll over to the following month.
On the final day of the month, a staff member will close the voting, and voting for the next month shall begin.
Please provide reasoning as to why you think an article is fit to be featured--remember, by featuring an article, you are presenting an article that represents the best work of its category. Whatever is nominated should be a model article for others that are similar to it.
Also try to provide variety in your nomination--our goal is to balance out the "demographic" of articles above, not add more character articles.
Space Paranoids: Since nobody started the voting for February, (I guess everyone has been busy because of the move) I decided to start for March. Space Paranoids is a great page, near perfect I'd say, and there is a new Space Paranoids coming up in DDD, so i thought it was appropriate. :3 Luxris

Okay I hope this is how you're supposed to vote. Space Paranoids is a very nice world. I can't wait to see the ne one though. I hear that it's called The Gris instead of Space Paranoids. How odd I must say but it is still pretty awesome. If you look on my Profile Page you'll see it is one of my faves.Lord Rose Thorn 18:31, March 1, 2012 (UTC)

Maleficent:A key character in the Kingdom Hearts series, with a fantastic article. Plus, we haven't had many Disney characters, which is odd because that's one of the main aspects of the game. And I like the way all the journal entries look. :P FinalRest 23:15, September 2, 2011 (UTC)

There's still a stub in the Personality section, so that has to be fixed if this is featured. RoxasNobody
Xemnas: In my opinion, this is one of our best articles. It has absolutely everything, including the recently created quote page. All in all, it's a really well done article on a really awesome character, so I think it deserves to be featured! FinalRest 01:00, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Much better article. Sorry, DS. Maybe next month. Soxxeh 06:27, August 16, 2011 (UTC)
Ansem, Seeker of Darkness Well I might as well nominate the Heartless counterpart of Xemnas, Because it is a great article and he too is an awesome character... I also have to stop FR's streak Shadow 03:54, August 3, 2011 (UTC)
Sub-discussion: Categories
Okay, I know FR brought this up on the talk page, so I'll rehash it here. Should we restructure the categories for the articles? Like dividing the Exclusive Characters category into Nobodies (Roxas, Naminé, Larxene, and Xion when she inevitability wins), Somebodies (Sora, Riku, Kairi, etc.), Unversed (Vanitas Remnant), and the enemies (already separate)? I'm personally against it, only because of the number of original character articles (soon to be 8) compared to the rest of the categories (no more than 4 for any, and that's worlds). It's gotten so bad that I thought of proposing an extended ban on the category so we could possibly even it out. I'm more against it, though, because they're all the same type of article. If anyone actually reads the rules for voting (and I'm sure that almost no one has) it says, "remember, by featuring an article, you are presenting an article that represents the best work of its category. Whatever is nominated should be a model article for others that are similar to it." There's no difference between an original Nobody character and an original Somebody character. The articles will be structured exactly the same. So, as you can probably tell, I'm against splitting up the category. Thoughts? RoxasNobody
The problem I had with the categories is that they're not distinctive enough- how can we decide which categories things fall into? For instance, you think that Xemnas would go under the 'Kingdom Hearts exclusive characters' category, but I actually nominated it because I thought it would go under 'Nobody enemies' and that would even out that category a bit. I think the 'Kingdom Hearts exclusive characters' category is a whole grey area, and it would be easier if it was split up to make it easier to categorise, see? FinalRest 01:24, August 7, 2011 (UTC)
While I could give an speech in my position on this, I must agree with RoxasNobody here. No matter if we divide them or not, this is for featuring a great article of his class, and Nobody character, while a Nobody with a different style of Infobox, is structured the same as Sora. So, I give my support to RN.--Dark-EnigmaXIII 14:44, August 14, 2011 (UTC)
Alrighty, I guess we have a descision then. :D FinalRest 00:17, August 15, 2011 (UTC)
Axel: I'm gonna nominate Axel, mainly because we've only had two members of the Organisation as a featured article, but also because he's awesome. Shadow 23:41, July 2, 2011 (UTC)
Alright, because of the hot mess nominating has become in the last few months, I'm now modeling this after the featured image voting. If you want to nominate an article, put it in bold. If you wish to vote for that article, put the # followed by your signature and a short comment if you want. There will also be a discussion if you wish to post longer comments. Alright, then, nominate! RoxasNobody
Zack - A detailed, clean article without anything missing (that I can see). We've only had one FF character article so far and I reckon it's Zack's turn to shine!FinalRest 06:01, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
... You do know you guys can nominate other things, right? as for me, I will keep the weapon fever, but nominate No Name. Think it for a second. The Keyblade dropped from the defeated Unknown in BBS. A Keyblade that holds connection to the yet-to-be-formed Organization XIII, just like its character. What secrets does it hold? Will we see it again in the future? Only time, will tell.--Dark-EnigmaXIII 13:37, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
Ineligible. Do you guys remember that this is supposed to be based off the quality of the article? Way to the Dawn isn't a bad choice, it's pretty similar to Oathkeeper in terms of quality, but No Name is a stub. We can't really put that as our featured article. RoxasNobody
Maybe sephiroth?

3- Why have you chaged idea? Way to Dawn is a good option!
First off, Sephiroth is not an original character. Where do you heard that? He's a Final fantasy character. Thus, he is not original. Second, he didnt changed his idea, he never gave one to begin with.--Dark-EnigmaXIII 18:58, May 17, 2011 (UTC)

April 2011
Ineligible Categories: Enemies, Weapons
For April, I nominate Master Xehanort. I know that there have been 6 articles on KH exclusive characters, but we haven't had one in a while, and MX is the most important villain in the series, and likely the antagonist of 3D. It is also well written, and would be the first major antagonist featured article. I know that I don't have 200 mainspace edits, but with so few experienced editors, I think that rule can be relaxed this month. RoxasNobody
Like on the other wiki, i'm gonna nominate Tron. See the other wiki for my reasons.Darkheart3
I second Master Xehanort, he is the most important villain after all. -- Shadow
And once again, the Featured Article goes over my head. And on April Fool's Day, no less.
RoxasNobody - You make a good other. TALK - No one would miss me. -15:22, April 1, 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, my fault. I just did it last month and people seemed fine with that.
I am fairly certain that it is allowed because MX is mainly an antagonist, but not fought, as opposed to Invisible, which is purely an enemy. EDIT: And Larxene fell under the characters category, not enemies. RoxasNobody 02:50, April 2, 2011 (UTC)
He has a point there he falls under Original Characters category not the enemy category... thats mainly Heartless, Nobodies and Unversed.

The Inexistent - Fly on, little wing, fly on. TALK - It's alright, she says, it's alright. Take anything you want from me. Anything.
For the month of March, I nominate Invisible. Now, you may be saying, "T_I, why are you nominating your favorite article?" Well, for one reason, only two Heartless enemies have ever been featured. Second, this article is extremely complete, with all journal entries, a very complete design section, and even an image of its weapon. In addition, this Heartless has appeared in several games. And, finally, the Invisibles are more of an unusual type of Heartless, having a human- like build, weilding an actual weapon, and bearing writing on said weapon.
Raiden9000 - I nominate Cloud Strife's page. My reason for this is because there is only one Final Fantasy based character page that is featured so far and that is Leon. Cloud also has some good attacks when you fight him throughout the games and has a cool fight scene with Sephiroth in Kingdom Hearts 2. Sorry if my nomination was meant to be in one of
those bubble things like the one above, but I don't know how to do those.
Unfortunatly, this is ineligible, because: As per the rules above, you lack sufficient edits, and gave no real reason why the page itself is a polished article. Light,Darkness, and What Lies Inbetween...The_Inexistent 21:43, February 3, 2011 (UTC)

LightRoxas - "I'm me! Nobody else!" TALK - "Looks like my summer vacation is... over."
I'd like to nominate Mark of Mastery, as it is of importance in the upcoming title KH3D. March is the launch month of the 3DS, so we can expect a lot more info on the game coming our way soon. The article itself is fairly polished and it would make a unique change of pace for FA.
LightRoxas - "I fight for the Users!" TALK - "I'm also better than you!"
So, I've read the posts below, and it looks like this is now open to non-staff. If I'm correct, then I'd like to nominate Aqua for February. Here's why:
1) Then what about Ultima Weapon? It has appeared in several games, and we've only done one featured weapon.
2) It looks like they decided to make it open if you read the discussion below. RadiantChaos 14:14, January 21, 2011 (UTC)
As much as I like Aqua as a character, I favor Ultima Weapon. We haven't been focusing on weapons very much for Featured Articles or Media, so it's nice for a change.--Xion4ever 17:30, January 22, 2011 (UTC)
I agree, Ultima Weapon's a good idea. maggosh 17:44, January 22, 2011 (UTC)

I personally am all for it, it's something new, something that's not overly cliche, sounds good to me--ShadowsTwilight 05:58, February 1, 2011 (UTC)
I nominate Land of Departure for the month of January. With the possibility of the Wiki leaving in the quickly approacing months of the future, I thought Land of Departure would be nice for it's title- departure. Think of this nomination for January as a farewell to this horrid Oasis, and a departure towards a better home. Also, once we do move, I nominate the remains of this Wiki to be Castle Oblivion. :P--Xion4ever 19:09, December 16, 2010 (UTC)

Well, seeing as nobody's made any suggestions for November, I'll put in my own nomination; Another side, Another story.... Now, taking DTN's concern last month into consideration - "not completely consistent with the format of our other [game] articles" - I took the initiative to ensure Another Side's article matches the format of our other secret ending articles; I'll admit there was some degree of difficulty as the article supports more than one of them. I do believe a secret ending hasn't been nominated before, so why not do something different? Thank you for your consideration.

And by some chance, I had brought my dice along! — 18:45, September 4, 2010 (UTC)
I see that Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep was chosen as the featured article. My commentary on this would be as follows:
BIG MISTAKE
The article is still very messy and is not completely consistent with the format of our other game articles. Also, whoever nominated and supported this seemed to forget that all Featured Articles should follow the manual of style, be written well, and not have any maintenance issues. You can see a missing <ref></ref> tag in the bottom of the page, was that not obvious enough?
But I digress. 100 Acre Wood is the only quality article that comes to mind right now for October.
EDIT: This is not to be taken offensively, but just to remind all of the staffers that an article should be thoroughly inspected before being nominated, and not to just nominate an article because it fits into the time frame. Thanks!
Eternal Nothingness XIII - This heart belongs again to darkness. All worlds begin in darkness, and all so end. The heart is no different. Darkness sprouts within it - it grows, consumes it. Such is its nature. In the end, every heart returns to the darkness whence it came. TALK - Your body submits, your heart succumbs - so why does your mind resist? — 19:16, October 1, 2010 (UTC)
The only reason you think 100 Acre Wood is such a masterpiece is because YOU revised it, DTN. That's not a fair enough judgment/reason to nominate an article. Birth by Sleep was elected to sort of tie-in to the Wiki's theme and also encourage users to edit the article, as well as articles based on it with the new information the English adaptions revealed.
I'd say, in the spirit of Halloween being in October, the stereotypical thing to do would be nominate a Halloween-based article, so we at least acknowledge it in some way, even though switching to a temporary Halloween theme is completely pointless. So I'd like to nominate Halloween Town, simply on the grounds that it's based on the best stop-motion film of all time, has appeared in almost every game, has a great storyline, and makes the Heartless encountered there look totally awesome! Granted it could still use some work, that can all be changed in time.
maggosh - I had been told the darkness would devour me, but what terrors could it possibly hold, so long as I found the strength to control it? TALK - This world is just too small.
I second ENX's notion.

In response, ENX, 100 Acre Wood is in full accordance with our Manual of Style. An article should be "perfect" before it is posted on the main page, not after. Then it is no better than the Cleanup of the Month, and defeats the entire purpose of Feaured Article. You'll also notice that BebopKate approved of the article beforehand, complimenting its high quality.

I'm going to leave the Featured Article as is until we come to a consensus.
ENX, the point of a Featured Article is that it is already the best it can be or pretty close, not that it needs improvement or fits a theme. If it needs improvement, it should be fixed before it is nominated. If it's something to encourage improvement, then we have the Improvement section for those needs.
DTN, 100 Acre Wood is very good indeed, but it's hardly a consensus with one or two people. We need more input here.
Given the direction of where this is going, I'm going to flat out say I'm not going to be the sole decision maker here. I want to hear from other staff members. We've got them and we need more input from them as well. We'll delay the vote until Monday to make a final decision.

Gummi Ship was indeed the selection for August, my only issue was finding an appropriate image of reasonable quality. Hopefully we will receive blueprint images of the Gummi Ships soon.
It has been a while since we have featured a world article, I think the last one was Traverse Town. I'm still not too sure about featuring a world from Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, due to our spoiler policy, but perhaps a world the former games would suffice, maybe even something that could tie into Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep without being spoilerific. Any suggestions?
Castle Oblivion- Aqua creating Castle Oblivion from the darkened Land of Depature.
Radiant Garden- Meh, it's in KH II and BBS.
Olympus Coliseum- Same reasoning as Radiant Garden.
Spoilers end here
If it's worlds not pertaining to BBS in anyway, I'm up for anything. The Inexistent proposed the Land of Dragons previously..

I think the Land of Dragons is the most complete of those suggested at this point.
Part of the problem with using the BBS worlds is that they're technically not finished until we get the release here, since I'm sure bits will change, and, as Xion mentioned, the spoiler issues. Besides, Land of Dragons is a nice example of an article for a world that has so far appeared in a single game.

Hola, señors y señoritas. I have a bit of news for us that might change our plans. Even though we all know that Room Core should have been the Featured Media for September, it looks like we are going to be putting up some art of the Land of Departure. I'm still hoping that everyone spontaneously changes their vote to the much superior Room Core, but in the event that doesn't happen, we may want to reconsider putting Land of Departure up as the Featured Article. Personally, I'm not sure how good or non-rigged it would look to have our Featured Media and Featured Article correspond with each other. At the same time, it might be nice, since Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep is just around the corner. Hooray!
Anyway, I did a long, drastic cleanup of 100 Acre Wood yesterday that should make it a model article. Plus, it's whimsical. If we find that we need to change our decision for Featured Article, I think this would be the way to go.
Hasta luego, ciao.

Not sure what we've decided, but I think we should feature the actual BBS article. For two reasons:
We've never featured a game article before
Comes out September 7th, and many other obvious reasons
Not sure what verdict we've reached, but this is, to me, the best choice.
"If you want light to rule over all, then you must rid the world of everything else."
I also agree. Along with the Land of Departure featured media, I think it's the best choice for September.
BebopKate - This one is Zazzles...because he's Zazzy! TALK - Here's your cat...and here's your $20...23:06, September 1, 2010 (UTC)
I'm not keen on Land of Departure for two reasons:
The game's not out yet here. Stuff will change, the page will probably be slammed with edits after the English version is released. It's in a bit of an unstable position to be called feature yet.
It's awfully, um, small. There's just not a lot of anything on it. I know that it's one world in one game, so that does limit how big it can be, but...it just doesn't scream feature-worthy. Yet.
Now 100 Acre Wood...good grief, DTN. That's a thing of beauty. That's how a good world article should look. Granted, it's got multiple games to support it, but it's also well-organized, nicely annotated, and bursting with info. I'm all about the Pooh.
"If you want light to rule over all, then you must rid the world of everything else."

Well, we, as a wiki, like to vote. The Mirage Arena is a great example of that, and I have to say Featured Media has exceeded everyone's expectations, methinks.
We've improved in quality overall since we stopped Featured Articles, and even more so since we've re-added them as staff only. I think we have a lot more wiki members who know what quality means and are willing to help and polish something so it's at its best.
Therefore, I would like to propose, in December, (for the January article, natch), we return Featured Articles to the hands of all the editors. I do think we should use the same system as Featured Media (restrained categories), as that has worked very well in producing a wide range of winners, and perhaps borrow and modify a couple of guidelines from FF Wiki's procedures, such as so many nominees before voting starts. If need be, we can re-tool things as we go along to make it work more smoothly, but I think this is a step we should take.
What say you, fellow staffers? Viva la editors! (Don't hit me, TroisNyx. ^_^)
