Wikia

Gears (ギア, Gia^?) are part of the Panel System found in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. These panels change the form of the playable character's weapons, serving as a replacement for the Keychain system of previous games. Most Gears have room to attach Units (ユニット, Yunitto^?), which boost the weapon's stats or unlock hidden abilities.

Skill GearEdit

The Skill Gear (スキルギア, Sukiru Gia^?) is obtained as a clear bonus in Mission 06. It can also be found as the Skill Gear+ ②, which is obtained as a clear bonus in Mission 13. When equipped, it transforms the weapon and allows the user to string together faster, longer ground combos.

Technical GearEdit

The Technical Gear ③ (テックギア③, Tekku Gia ③^?, lit. "Tech Gear ③") can be purchased for 720 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Novice rank. It can also be found as the Technical Gear+ ③, which is obtained from a chest at the Outside the Coliseum in Mission 39. When equipped, it transforms the weapon and allows the user to string together faster, much longer ground combos.

Duel GearEdit

The Duel Gear ④ (デュアルギア④, Dyuaru Gia ④^?, lit. "Dual Gear ④") is obtained through item synthesis. It can also be found as the Duel Gear+ ④, which is obtained from a chest at the Tram Common in Mission 59, and the Duel Gear++ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the weapon and allows the user to string together faster, incredibly long ground combos.

Loaded GearEdit

The Loaded Gear (アームドギア, Āmudo Gia^?, lit. "Armed Gear") is obtained from a chest at the Underground Passage in Mission 11. It can also be found as the Loaded Gear+ ②, which is obtained from a chest at The Palace in Mission 16. When equipped, it transforms the weapon and boosts the user's Magic to give it more power.

Chrono GearEdit

The Chrono Gear ③ (クロノギア③, Kurono Gia ③^?) can be purchased for 720 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Novice rank. It can also be found as the Chrono Gear+ ③, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the weapon and boosts the user's Magic to give it a lot more power.

Phantom GearEdit

The Phantom Gear ④ (ファントムギア④, Fantomu Gia ④^?) is obtained from a chest at the Halloween Town Entrance in Mission 45. It can also be found as the Phantom Gear+ ④, which can be redeemed for 70 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop, and the Phantom Gear++ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon and boosts its Magic to give it incredible power.

Lift GearEdit

The Lift Gear ③ (クライムギア③, Kuraimu Gia ③^?, lit. "Climb Gear ③") can be purchased for 1080 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Novice rank. It can also be found as the Lift Gear+ ③, which can be redeemed for 10 Mission Crowns at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that performs very well in midair.

Nimble GearEdit

The Nimble Gear ④ (エレガントギア④, Ereganto Gia ④^?, lit. "Elegant Gear ④") can be purchased for 3600 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Rookie rank. It can also be found as the Nimble Gear+ ④, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that performs extremely well in midair.

Wild GearEdit

The Wild Gear ③ (ワイルドギア③, Wairudo Gia ③^?) can be purchased for 1080 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Novice rank. It can also be found as the Wild Gear+ ③, which can be redeemed for 40 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon, enabling it attacks to reach a wide area and deal heavy damage.

Ominous GearEdit

The Ominous Gear ④ (オミナスギア④, Ominasu Gia ④^?) is obtained from a chest at the Agrabah Street in Mission 15. When equipped, it can also be found as the Ominous Gear+ ④, which is obtained through item synthesis. It transforms the user's weapon, enabling its attacks to reach a wide area and deal immense damage.

Valor GearEdit

The Valor Gear ② (ブレイブギア②, Bureibu Gia ②^?, lit. "Brave Gear ②") is obtained from a chest at the West Hall in Mission 29. When equipped, it can also be found as the Valor Gear+ ②, which can be redeemed for 2 Mission Crowns at the Moogle Shop. It transforms the user's weapon into one with higher Strength.

Fearless GearEdit

The Fearless Gear ③ (フィアレスギア③, Fiaresu Gia ③^?) can be purchased for 2400 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Rookie rank. When equipped, it can also be found as the Fearless Gear+ ③, which is obtained through item synthesis. It transforms the user's weapon into one with much higher Strength.

Prestige GearEdit

The Prestige Gear ④ (グローリィギア④, Gurōryi Gia ④^?, lit. "Glory Gear ④") can be purchased for 3600 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Agent rank. It can also be found as the Prestige Gear+ ④, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one with extreme Strength.

Crisis GearEdit

The Crisis Gear ⑤ (クライシスギア⑤, Kuraishisu Gia ⑤^?) is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it can also be found as the Crisis Gear+ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. It transforms the user's weapon and provides versatility by boosting both Strength and Magic.

Omega GearEdit

The Omega Gear ⑥ (オメガギア⑥, Omega Gia ⑥^?) can be redeemed for 160 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it can also be found as the Omega Gear+ ⑥, which is obtained through item synthesis. It transforms the user's weapon and provides versatility by greatly boosting both Strength and Magic.

Hazard GearEdit

The Hazard Gear ⑤ (ハザードギア⑤, Hazādo Gia ⑤^?) is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it can also be found as the Hazard Gear+ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. It transforms the user's weapon into one that offers high Magic and combo reach.

Rage GearEdit

The Rage Gear ⑤ (レイジングギア⑤, Reijingu Gia ⑤^?, lit. "Raging Gear ⑤") can be redeemed for 120 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop. It can also be found as the Rage Gear+ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon and allows longer ground and aerial combos.

Champion GearEdit

The Champion Gear ⑤ (ヴァリアントギア⑤, Varianto Gia ⑤^?, lit. "Valiant Gear ⑤") is obtained through item synthesis. It can also be found as the Champion Gear+ ⑤, which can be purchased for 6400 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Master rank. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that offers high Strength and ground combo speed.

Ultimate GearEdit

The Ultimate Gear ⑥ (アルティメットギア⑥, Arutimetto Gia ⑥^?) can be redeemed for 110 Mission Crowns at the Moogle Shop. It can also be found as the Ultimate Gear+ ⑥, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that boasts superior Strength and ground combo speed.

Pandora's GearEdit

The Pandora's Gear ⑤ (パンドラギア⑤, Pandora Gia ⑤^?, lit. "Pandora Gear ⑤") can be purchased for 10000 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once every Secret Report has been obtained.^[1] It can also be found as the Pandora's Gear+ ⑤, which is obtained through item synthesis. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into a more formidable form, with exceptional capabilities. The Pandora's Gear ⑤ grants the Risky Play ability.

For Organization members, this Gear grants them two of their most powerful weapons; the color scheme is the same for all of the Organization's weapons provided by the Pandora's Gear, consisting of black, gold, and blue or red. For Sora, Donald, Goofy, and Riku, this Gear grants them the version of their weapon that is based on an Organization member's signature weapon. The King is the only exception, as he is granted his former Keyblade, the Star Seeker.

Zero GearEdit

The Zero Gear ⑤ (ゼロギア⑤, Zero Gia ⑤^?) can be purchased for 30000 Heart Points at the Moogle Shop, once Roxas is promoted to Legend rank. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into a more powerful form that draws forth its wielder's true worth.

The Zero Gear is emblazoned with the Nobody insignia, signifying that for the Organization members, as well as others who wear the Black Coat, this gear produces that character's signature weapon. For Sora, Donald, and Goofy, it instead produces their Dream weapons.

For Roxas, however, it produces his signature Oathkeeper and Oblivion only when equipped with three Ability Units, and only during Mission Mode. It produces Kingdom Key+, Oathkeeper, and Two Become One when equipped with zero, one, and two Ability Units, respectively. In Story Mode, three Ability Units simply revert the Keyblade back into Kingdom Key+. Xion's Keyblade, when equipped with the Zero Gear, operates as Roxas's does in Story Mode.

Casual GearEdit

The Casual Gear ② (カジュアルギア②, Kajuaru Gia ②^?) can be redeemed for 15 Challenge Sigils at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into "something awfully familiar", i.e., a joke weapon such as an umbrella or a broom.

Mystery GearEdit

The Mystery Gear ③ (ミステリーギア③, Misuterī Gia ③^?) can be redeemed for 60 Mission Crowns at the Moogle Shop. When equipped, it transforms the user's weapon into one that "draws forth its wielder's true personality."

The Ability Unit Ⓛ (アビリティユニットⓁ, Abiriti Yunitto Ⓛ^?) is a link panel that unlocks one of a weapon's hidden abilities when equipped.

The three Ability Unit Ⓛ's can be purchased at the Moogle Shop for 360 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Rookie rank, obtained as a clear bonus in Mission 15, and as a clear bonus in Mission 30.

Power UnitEdit

The Power Unit Ⓛ (パワーユニットⓁ, Pawā Yunitto Ⓛ^?) is a link panel that increases the weapon's Strength, depending on the weapon.

The five Power Unit Ⓛ's can be purchased at the Moogle Shop for 180 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Novice rank, for 480 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Agent rank, for 2500 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Legend rank, redeemed for 170 Mission Crowns, and obtained from a chest at the Side Street in Mission 13.

Magic UnitEdit

The Magic Unit Ⓛ (マジックユニットⓁ, Majikku Yunitto Ⓛ^?) is a link panel that increases the weapon's Magic, depending on the weapon.

The five Magic Unit Ⓛ's can be purchased at the Moogle Shop for 480 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Rookie rank, for 800 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Expert rank, for 2500 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Legend rank, redeemed for 190 Mission Crowns, and obtained as a clear bonus in Mission 73.

Guard UnitEdit

The Guard Unit Ⓛ (ガードユニットⓁ, Gādo Yunitto Ⓛ^?) is a link panel that increases the weapon's Defense, depending on the weapon.

The five Guard Unit Ⓛ's can be purchased at the Moogle Shop for 480 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Rookie rank, for 800 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Expert rank, for 2500 Heart Points once Roxas is promoted to Legend rank, redeemed for 240 Mission Crowns, and obtained as an MG clear bonus in Mission 20.

Sight UnitEdit

The Sight Unit Ⓛ (センスユニットⓁ, Sensu Yunitto Ⓛ^?, lit. "Sense Unit Ⓛ") is a link panel that increases the weapon's Critical Rate and Critical Bonus, depending on the weapon.

The five Sight Unit Ⓛ's are obtained as a clear bonus in Mission 44, as a clear bonus in Mission 90, from a chest at the Agrabah Street in Mission 32, from a chest at the Cave/Entrance Hall in Mission 48, and from a chest at the Agrabah Street in Mission 82.
