Guard (リフレクトガード Rifurekuto Gādo?, lit. "Reflect Guard"), also translated as Block in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, is an ability which appears in Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, it is an ability panel, and it can be upgraded by linking Block LV+ Ⓛ (ガードアップⓁ Gādo Appu Ⓛ?, lit. "Guard Up Ⓛ") panels to it. It can be leveled from Block LV1 up to Block LV2, Block LV3, and Block LV4, which increase blocking speed and decrease the recoil distance that occurs after a successful block. It can also be linked to various sub-panels, which can be synthesized at the Moogle Shop.

In all games, it allows the user to deflect a frontal enemy attack. In Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, it is activated by pressing Square. In Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, it is automatic. In Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded, it is activated by pressing Y. In Kingdom Hearts, the guarding action is a single blocking swing, while in Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep, it is a continuous action that lasts a short period of time and can block consecutive attacks. In Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts II, "Guard" requires 2 AP to equip, while in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories, it is activated by the Large Body card, costs 40 CP to add to your deck, and lasts for 1 reload.
