Enemy cards are cards used for temporary passive abilities in Chain of Memories and Re:Chain of Memories. They require Card Points to be equipped, but do not have numbered values and are kept in a separate part of Sora and Riku's decks. Enemy cards are derived from enemies, both standard Heartless and boss encounters. In case of a non-boss enemy it has to be defeated last to have a chance for it to drop its card. In case of recurring bosses the enemy card is not acquired until their final bossfight (except for Marluxia). Riku cannot build his own deck, but he gains access to a fixed enemy card per world, and also permanently equips all boss enemy cards he acquires.

Enemies and bosses use their own enemy cards as attack cards. Character bosses that use their own deck are the exception in this case, as they use attack and magic cards like the player, and are thus also able to use enemy cards themselves, provided they are equipped in their deck. An example is Vexen using his own enemy card's Auto-Life ability.

Remake changes[]

The Darkball and Ansem cards in the original version had effects that were only usable in Link Mode, the GBA's player versus player game mode. As Link Mode was not included in the remake the Darkball card was made unavailable to Sora (Riku can still use and acquire it however) and the Ansem card's effect was reduced to only include its elemental resistances.

The remake also introduced eight additional enemy cards based on the Organization XIII members, as well as the Gold and Platinum Card. The Organization cards are obtained in a Room of Rewards, provided the required completion criteria has been achieved, which depends on the version of the game being played. The Gold and Platinum Cards are found in any treasure chest once all other cards have been collected.

Enemy cards[]

The drop rate for all normal enemy cards ranges from 2% to 4%, which is increased by 2.5 (5% to 10%) in the Teeming, Almight, and Looming Darkness map cards.

Enemy cards from bosses[]

All boss cards, except for three, are acquired upon their final defeat. Marluxia's card is obtained after his first defeat, whereas the Lexaeus and Ansem cards are only available to Sora in specific bounty rooms after defeating Marluxia once and with a completed Reverse/Rebirth savefile. Lexaeus specifically can be found in Castle Oblivion (note that Riku receives his card after his defeat), whereas Ansem is found in Castle Oblivion as well in the original version, or Twilight Town in the remake.

Boss cards have unique card limitations based on the effect, such as a specific number of attacks or sleights, rather than relying on a number of reloads. Enemy cards from Organization XIII have additional elemental buffs and debuffs, although most grant basic elemental resistances, some can also make you vulnerable.

New Organization XIII enemy cards[]

These new enemy cards all belong to Organization XIII members, all of which are acquired through a specific save file condition. Zexion is automatically acquired by Riku upon his defeat, but Sora must found him in a bounty room in Destiny Islands after defeating Marluxia's first phase and with a completed Reverse/Rebirth save file present.

All others can be found in the second chest in specific Room of Rewards, provided the requirement has been met, depending on the version of the game. In the original Japanese PS2 remake a completed Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix save file is needed, whereas the English version requires completed save files of both of the game's storylines. 1.5 ReMIX only requires completion of 358/2 Days.
