Sanctuary is a Sitar that can be wielded by Demyx in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days. It can be upgraded to Sanctuary+.

Design[]

The Sanctuary sitar bears a similar appearance to the Arpeggio. Its headstock is comprised of three black spikes shaped like those on the Nobody logo, superimposed over a white ring with two similarly shaped spikes on it. The fretboard is black with thick, concave, gold edges. The body of the sitar has a vague hourglass shape, sporting a large, semi-circular indentation on each side. It is mainly blue in color, but has a large, black "X" symbol near its base that is shaped like the top half of the Nobody symbol. This symbol seemingly acts as the bridge of the sitar, since its three gold strings appear to attach to it. A white "Y" shaped pattern decorates the upper half of the body. The edges of the Sanctuary's body are gold, and sport three spikes; one on the bottom and one on each side.

Like the rest of Demyx's weapons' musical connections, the Sanctuary sitar draws its name from the English rendition of the theme song of Kingdom Hearts II and Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days: Sanctuary, by Utada Hikaru.

Gameplay[]

Sanctuary's normal ground combo starts with Demyx performing a 360-degree spinning diagonal slash with the tip of the sitar, followed by a swing of the the sitar by the neck diagonally upward in a baseball bat-like fashion, and ends with a powerful attack where Demyx lifts the weapon by the neck above his head and slams it downward in a pickaxe-like fashion. The Y-Combo can be activated after the second attack, and consists of four quick blasts of yellow shockwaves in an outward direction.

The aerial combo consists of a series of very fast airborne spinning attacks, followed by followed by a blast of three yellow shockwaves forwards, and ends with four quick blasts of yellow shockwaves in an outward direction.
