StoryEdit

Kingdom HeartsEdit

In Kingdom Hearts, Bandits made their first appearance during where Maleficent was conversing with Jafar about his progress. Jafar summoned Bandits to search for Jasmine. They also appear after Sora and company first encounter Jasmine (and Jafar shortly after, who summoned the Bandits). They are seem again fighting Sora, Donald, and Goofy as they rescue Aladdin. They are overwhelmed by the Heartless and are nearly defeated until Aladdin summons Genie to destroy the remaining Bandits.

Kingdom Hearts IIEdit

Bandits appear in a short cameo, during the cutscene shown after Sora learns that Jafar could be released. Other than that one appearance, they do not appear anywhere else as they are not enemies in this game. Instead, they are replaced by Luna Bandits.

Other appearancesEdit

Kingdom Hearts MobileEdit

The Bandit appears as a bonus costume in Kingdom Hearts Mobile for clearing Episode 5 of Kingdom Hearts coded.

Kingdom Hearts MangaEdit

In volume 2 of the Kingdom Hearts manga, when Sora and Co. visit Agrabah, bandits chase them out of the Cave of Wonders due to Jafar commanding them to do so.

DesignEdit

The Bandit's design seems to be derived from the image of the stereotypical "Arabian" thug seen in many media, including Disney's own Aladdin. The Bandit boasts a bright white turban and matching face mask, a purple vest trimmed in gold, purple pants with plum and silver trim that is held in place with a salmon-colored sash, blue curled-toe shoes, and a plum and silver choker, and set of armbands. They also wear lots of gold and silver rings and bracelets, perhaps showing off the spoils they have plundered. Their large gold-hilted swords resemble classic scimitars.

Kingdom Hearts Final Mix Bandits are dressed in yellow and dark reds instead of purple and blue, a color scheme mirrored by their successors in Kingdom Hearts II, the Luna Bandits.

The Bandit's name references the Heartless's resemblance to Arabian thugs. Historically, bandits were outlaws that would commit crimes such as robbery or murder.

StrategyEdit

The Bandit can be a somewhat tricky enemy to beat due to it throwing itself at you. This can be dodged, but as they tend to appear in groups it is difficult to know which one will attack and to dodge accordingly. Physical attacks are the best choice especially if their attack is blocked. Magic can also be a better choice when confronting a crowd.
